"As of June 1, 2023, Sozo Cheboygan is permanently closed. Sozo Cheboygan is transitioning to new ownership, and has closed to allow the new operator to prepare to re-open. We apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this sudden change may cause. We are so grateful for the loyalty and support of the Cheboygan community and every customer we had the opportunity to get to know. Our Cheboygan location was the first operational Sozo store. It was a privilege to serve northern Michigan over the past years. Store has great prices and sales and normally friendly service but today was a different story. I made a large purchase and was supposed to get a package of edibles for a penny according to their sale. When I got home to go over my purchase and receipt I found I was missing a package of gummies. I called and was basically told I was a liar and they would have to call back and go over the camera footage. I thought the way I was talked to was poor business practice. I guess I will no longer be shopping there. There are plenty of other businesses I can go to.

I have shopped with the company since they opened the doors in Cheboygan, and was very happy with the first and second store managers. But the turn around with management is crazy high. Twice I have been banned, no issue no reason, I don't like one of the employees and asked that they put a note in my profile saying not to let her serve me, got banned, talked to higher ups, got the banned lifted, went in a few weeks later banned again. No reason, no call, just told I'm not allowed to shop there. The loyalty program is the only good thing they offer, but the poor customer service makes it not worth it. I will gladly spend more at xact or livwell to have great customer service.
