I visited the store on Tuesday 7/30/2019 and purchased some 4x blue raspberry vape pods. When I got home and opened the package I found a totally different brand of pods had been put in the box! I called the store to let them know what I had found and that I was upset! I bought the 4x pods because they are the only ones that don't have a bitter after taste! The guy I spoke to told me to contact the manufacturer because they were the one's who would have made that mistake! He never once said he was sorry or offered to exchange them for the correct ones! All I wanted him to do is apologize for the mix-up and exchange the pods. I will never go to this place again and I would never recommend this place to anyone!

Gave them a call to ask a few questions after being in the store earlier in the day. The associate sounded very annoyed and quite condescending with his answers. Why would I want to spend my money in a place like that. The gentleman I spoke with at the store earlier was much nicer just didn’t have the information I needed. Being a dick to a possible customer will always cost you more than just their business.

Selection is great! Transplanted from Atlanta, I needed a great smoke shop to turn my business to. Modern Age has been great since the start! The staff is awesome and the vibe in there is always laid back. Absolutely recommend to any interested parties!

STOP BEFORE YOU SHOP......A waste of time and money at this store. I bought two vapor devices and they both broke within days of purchase. The employees refused to help me with fixing the problem. Like really what is this place. Very very bad customer service and work ethics. Bad business management must be stopped in the us. Americans spend millions of dollars and tons of time on poor quality products every year. And stores like this is the reason why. Only the consumer's can stop the problems in these businesses. Don't help someone continue ripping people off with there poor quality products and services. There are way better shops in Athens besides this one. And the other places really care a warranty there products that break within days of purchases. Americans have to stop supporting poor quality products and businesses like this one.

I recommended a friend to purchase a product ( herb) in his neighborhood this evening and much to my dismay he tells me of his piss poor service he received . Not only did he get this so called service in store but on the follow up phone call to reassure his purchase was what he requested. Please rest assure that I will never recommend your shop again . Blue Rat will continue to be his place where he is welcomed with a smile and " hello " . .!!

Save your time and do not come here, I bought a brand new Smok product that continues to leak everywhere. I called in before I drove in and explained everything that was going on. I was told to come in which I did and live 30min away. I show up and they said since its leaking they cant do anything about it. It started leaking 45min after I purchased it. The "boss" was hiding in the back office and couldn't even come out and talk to us. Bunch of idiots here that think they know everything. Please do not go here!!!! Find a better place. By the way I've spent 500$ plus on stuff and they couldn't even help me out in any way.

Rude, inconsiderate and overpriced. The owner guy is an ass. These people have serious attitude problems. I'm 57 years old and they kept spying on me like I was a teenager trying to shoplift...and I had already placed two potential purchases on the checkout counter! Needless to say, they lost an $80.00 sale that day. There are other shops in town, don't support this place.

I wonder if the five star reviews here are posted by the staff or owner.. I can't imagine otherwise.

My boyfriend was in the shop with me. He does not smoke. He asked what a certain device was for (vaporizer) and I explained, very quietly, under hushed breath, that one puts marijuana in the device. The manager guy was hovering five feet from us and heard what I said. He immediately said "I have to ask you to leave now, those kind of words are not allowed in this shop!" We left feeling like criminals, I guess he thought we were the police or something. My boyfriend (who is a fine and considerate Southern Gentlemen) went back a week later, feeling offended and wanting to make amends, apologizing for breaking an unposted rule, and the manager threw him out a second time!

This place would not survive were it not so close to the campus.

Horrible customer service. Their "strict no exchange, no return policy" which even applies to UNOPENED devices is basically theft, especially when they don't provide the information upfront. I'll be making my way back to my original vape store who employs a knowledgeable and helpful staff and is willing to work with a customer who was sold a low quality device...

BUT wait! A GOOD vape store wouldn't sell a low quality device in the first place.

I'll be sure all my friends and acquaintances know to avoid this place as well.

Always better off buying online. This store has workers that have zero knowledge and will not let you return a non used device after FALSE information. My husband I and I have shopped here since we were teenagers but after today, never again. Treat people with respect.

My experience wasn't as bad as some, but the owner did flat out tell me "no one" wants that when I asked about a product, which would have been fine if worded more thoughtfully. He was just flat out rude when I asked about another product I considered a standard tobacco. The staff was acceptable to above average both times I visited.
