Compared to dispensaries in other states, this shopping experience is a sad affair.
And let me be clear, it's not Iowa Cannabis Company's fault at all. They're doing the best they can with what the current laws allow.
You'll walk into a waiting area, and you'll get checked in when you provide your ID and your mmj card. You'll then go into a locked, windowless back room, where they have a few McDonald's-menu-style LCD displays on the wall, displaying the products. The same five products you can buy at any of the three dispensaries in the state. You won't actually be able to see the products until they're purchased, at which point your salesperson will go get them from a locked cage in yet ANOTHER locked, windowless back room.
So the actual sales experience is lackluster, but the folks that work there are very friendly, very knowledgeable about the products they sell, and the products they sell are high quality. For now, with Iowa mmj laws as draconian as they are, Iowa Cannabis Company is doing the best job they can. I'll definitely be a repeat customer, even forgetting for a minute that they're the only choice we have in eastern Iowa.
