Tallulah Delta 8 + Floating - CBD Mushrooms THC (RAILROAD SQUARE)

Hi internet,

So I went in for an application here recently and would just like to share a bit about my experience.

First off, some background: I have a college degree and years of experience in the science and cultivation of the cannabis plant.

So, when I saw a job posting on indeed for a cannabis store specializing in hemp products and delta 8 I figured I would check it out.

I arrived and the woman behind the counter proceeded to ask me standard preemployment interview questions and then we got to what was the rudest exchange of my life.

I was asked what I knew about the “hemp” plant and I responded that I knew quite a bit given that I ran a cultivation building that grew the plant.

This apparently wasn’t the right answer because I was told “they were entirely different plants” and that I “clearly needed to go do more research” and that they didn’t carry “marijuana products” and “you don’t need a medical card because it’s a different plant” (a word I didn’t even use and a thing I didn’t reference) all while receiving a series of ever increasingly condescending tone of voice and face.

So, for that employee or owner or whomever you may be, a quick science lesson.

The “hemp” plant is not a plant. “Hemp” is a fiberous material on the outer layers of the stalk of the CANNABIS plant.

“Marijuana” is a slang term for the Cannabis plant. If you carry products derived from the Cannabis plant, you carry marijuana products.

“The hemp” plant is not “higher in cbd and lower in thc” the male version of the CANNABIS plant is higher in cbd and lower in thc. And while the male cannabis plant is usually selected for hemp processing because of this and other physical factors, levels of THC and CBD production are cultivar specific and the female cannabis plant produces the hemp fiber just as well as the male CANNABIS plant.

Just like male and female humans are still human, Male and Female cannabis plants are still cannabis. I would expect this to be cursory knowledge from someone advertising a job listing at a CANNABIS store but I must be mistaken.

Next time, maybe YOU should do more research rather than condescending.
