I really love this store !!! I've been patronizing Asylum since 1978. Hard to find music and other items aren't hard to find here. John the manager is the nicest most helpful person that I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Take my word for it, give Asylum Sights and Sounds a visit, You won't be disappointed !!!

Went in looking for a certain brand or organic Kratom. Left feeling dismissed, and pushed out the door. After asking for a certain brand I was told there were thousand, and that they were all organic. So, rather than offering to show me any. They sell me some store bagged stuff which is AWFUL in quality.

Love this gem! Go in for any smoke shop needs or music! Awesome records and CDs with a plethora of options and amazing glass work. The vibe in there is so laid back and the people are always friendly...love making this a stop every time im in St. Pete!

I would definitely recommend this place.
I only come here to get incense. (they have the biggest selection of incense I've ever seen so that definitely helps!) The place is much better than most smoke shops I've been too. The people are great and the prices are decent. not much else you could ask for.

Asylum Records is a St. Pete icon!!! I really enjoy shopping there, because the wait staff is second to none! Asylum has all things related to music. If they don't have it, they know where you can get it.

Records, records, discs and an impressive amount of hand blown local glass products for glassware snobs everywhere. (They're not snobs, but their selection could please the biggest).
I went to Asylum the first time a few weeks ago. I had a doctor appt and killed some time beforehand. Man, I did not expect the selection, variety and quality of everything they carry. If you're looking to impress your dabbing buddies with some of the best glass (anywhere) give them a shout. They carry items that are for everyday or special occasions. The guys working are knowledgeable and friendly. The shop has everything you could possibly need for smoking or finding some old vinyl or obscure music discs. They have music posters and tons more. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the St. Pete/Tampa area.

I absolutely love Asylum. They have the best prices of any of the smoke shops in town, better than Purple Haze by a mile. Plus the staff is actually nice and helpful. They've got cheap music and DVDs and stuff, too. Just a great all around spot, nothing else like it.

Real cool place lots of neat stuff to look at. The people were nice and store was packed with cool stuff. You have to keep your head on a swivel because things are everywhere to check out. Will be back

Landmark store, definitely worth visiting. Local guide reviews are worthless. Customer service is hit and miss. It's not just a smoke shop so their are teenagers in the store gawking at the smoking merchandise they can not buy and generally getting in the way like teenagers do. Prices are expensive just like any other smoke shop in the area. Same type of selection nothing special.

Reasonable prices on most items, but they charge a premium on some so watch out if you're thrifty/frugal/cheap AF like me. That being said, still the best shop in the area by far for the items they carry
