My experiences the last couple times takeaway
:Donβt mess up a cutting a cigar *tell* the customer to go grab another. Disrespectful, incompetent, inconsiderate, banal irresponsible lazy disdain, all phrases that describe my customer experience over the last few months. I wanted that one and you screwed it up, and I didnβt have time for that after waiting so long. They are making the wrong assumptions about customers. Figure it out Iβm not handing out any more free game.
1)Wait inline 15 minutes while the cashier finishes personal conversation with friend/customer. Employee proceeds to botch making a notch V cut in my cigar. Tells me to go back into humidor and grab another. I have been waiting 20 minutes now, and there are 3 people behind me, I decline and leave.
2)Go on to buy a vape. It works semi alright for 5 minutes but has no flavor. Day later exchange it, vape makes me feel sick, doesnβt taste of flavor and dies within 24 hours.
Old school tobacco shop feel now it feels like theyβre trying to be a bodega in nyc except you would have better luck buying a vape or cigar from one of them because the clientele keeps them in check when they sell products that are not good. They sell products they know are bad, figure it out. worth a 1 star review. Poor Richard. Itβs honestly really sad. They sold me a vape that made me borderline ill. Not ***king cool. Been vaping 10+ years and never had such a terrible experience inhaling something. L

The store looked nice and inviting, until I got inside.
The cashier seemed to be disinterested and then became judgemental as I told him I liked aromatic tobaccos. The cashier began to talk down on my smoking of aromatics, unnecessary corrected my mistake of the smell of a tobacco and did not ask what I like. I wonβt go back.

One of the main reasons for our trip to Bozeman was the shopping which included cigars. I initially had a great experience dealing with an attendant when I finally made it down but when I came back to pick up my cigars, the store had closed 2 hours early due to a power outage. I'm not sure why they didn't reopen like every other store in the downtown core we attended but a power outage is out of their control. However, when I returned today, to buy a box of padrons, retailing at over $250.00 USD, the different attendant, didn't even show up till 1014 hrs. Store opens at 1000 hrs according to Google, and the sign on the door. I get it, no one wants to come into work and immediately have customers but we had a time frame to get back to the border. Then the attendant didn't even open the door and walked around the store for another 6 minutes before opening the door. When she did, she said "my computer isn't working because my girl last night didn't shut it off properly so you'll have to pay with cash or come back later." Well she couldn't shut it down properly because she had no power, however maybe if she waited for the power to come on, (less then 40 min), she could've rebooted it so at least it would work the following day. Regardless I told the attendant I couldn't set the cigars aside because now with it being 20 minutes past opening when she finally opened the door, we had to leave. She promptly closed the door and walked away. While I waited 4 other people showed up, all of them pulled on the door, looked at the sign and left. They were all after 10 when the store was supposed to open. Had the store opened at 10, maybe the computer would have had time to reboot. It's really brutal because I allotted a certain amount of cigars to purchase locally and not online because I enjoy supporting locals when I can but the customer service rivaled that of UPS, (terrible). It's likely I'll return to Bozeman, unlikely I'd returned to this store.

Seems to have gone downhill recently. Staff seems disinterested and ignorant at best, washed out tweakers at worst. Literally had the employee checking me out pause halfway through to check their email, no joke. Too bad to see another Bozeman landmark business go to seed...

Johnson is who I usually interact with at Poor Richard's and he is AWESOME! I've bought both pipe tobacco and cigars off of his recommendation and haven't been disappointed yet. He is extremely knowledgeable not only about the tobacco itself buy where it was grown, who it was aged, etc. Overall an excellent source of information and a great resource to have. Overall the store is very nice, has a good selection with a large amount of variety. I would definitely (and often do) recommend to a friend.

The selection of pipe tobacco, cigars, pipes (of all kinds) is amazing. They have just about every smoking accessory you can imagine, along with a good selection of luxury cigarettes. The employees are always super relaxed but still super helpful and willing to answer any questions you might have. The selection of glass

Be very cautious on pricing here. 2 weeks ago I paid $84 for 2 bundles of cigars. Today they charged me $104 for the exact same purchase. Supposedly received discount both times. Way to big of a gap. I'll find an alternative place to shop.

I am Very disappointed in the quality of the cigars. After purchasing over 100 dollars in cigars I came home to find that several of the cigars had tobacco beetles and more then a few were dry as bones and had cracked feet and bodies that made them worthless. I will never bring my business to this store again and would advise that any one seeking quality cigars to look at other retailers in the area.

Great place, has lots of glass and some grenco products. They have a good selection of cigars and are reasonably priced. Stop by check for yourself. They also carry a lot of hookah and accessories as well as dab needs. They have its of exotic and Norma glass pipes as well as Meerschaum pipes.

Expensive, unorganized and a cold place to shop. I have to ask for receipts which are hand-written. A defective Blackbird lighter cost me over $45.00 due to their unwillingness to work with me. I made them aware or the issue and they SOLD me a cheaper zippo. To cap it off I asked for a box of wood matches and they SOLD them to me. Full price, $.25. I even pointed that out and then they took my quarter. Smoking Smitty's is always friendly and concerned with my satisfaction. Don't expect that here. And I have been shopping there for over a year.
